OT Rugby Reunion 2009

On Saturday 21st November thirteen school rugby players from the mid-1980s accepted the invitation of the OT Society to come back to the school for lunch and to watch the 1st XV play St. Paul's. It is hoped to hold similar small-scale reunions in future for particular sports' teams or perfomers in specific concerts or plays. The event was hosted by David Walsh, Chairman of the OT Society, and by John Gibbs, who coached the 1st XV in the 1970s and 1980s. After drinks a convivial lunch was held at which there was much reminiscing about past games. The party then went to the new Fifty on the far side of the Head to watch the current 1st XV maintain their impressive record with an emphatic victory over a strong St. Paul's team. It was followed by tea in the new Sports Centre.
