The OTs beat the Old Cranleighans by 54 runs in the second round of the 2009 Cricketer Cup on the Head on 28th June.
Put in to bat, we lost Ed Smith early, but Chris Walsh and Matt Banes steadied the ship. When Walsh was out for 42, Banes was joined by Oli Howick. Both scored centuries (103 and 105 respectively) and the Tonbridge innings closed on 299.
Cranleigh's best batsman was soon out to a sharp caught and bowled by Matt Barham, but at 150 for 4, with one batsman on 85 and another on 40, the game could have gone either way. Fortunately, one was caught on the square-leg boundary and the other run out, and the innings then declined to 245 all out. Jamie Ford took 5 for 33.
Our next opponents are the Charterhouse Friars at Charterhouse on Sunday 12th July.
