KEANE WIN IVOR NOVELLO AWARD

Keane have won the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Songwriters of the Year. They had also been nominated in the ‘Best Song Musically and Lyrically’ category with ‘Everybody’s Changing’. The ‘Best Selling Single 2004’ was ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’, performed by ‘Band Aid 20’, a project in which Keane were involved.

Keane have revealed that their second album is nearing completion. Pianist and song writer Tom Rice-Oxley has spoken about how being on the road has increased his creativity. “I’ve been writing a lot on the road this last year. We have a lot of songs that we’re very, very excited about. I really feel that after touring for 18 months our playing has got much better. Our creativity has got much better and my song writing has got a lot better. I don’t know why, but I really feel the songs are different and somehow better.” Keane’s follow up to the massive ‘Hope and Fears’ won’t be out till early next year.
