A service celebrating the life of Michael McCrum, Headmaster of Tonbridge from 1962 to 1970, was held in Cambridge last Saturday, 21st May.
It was a suitably impressive service in the University Church of Great St Mary's. Addresses were given by Sir Peter Marshall (OT), an Honorary Fellow of Corpus Christi College, where Michael was Master from 1980 to 1994, and by Professor Hew Strachan, Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford.
Other contributions to the service included readings by Robert and Stephen McCrum, his sons, and Sir Eric Anderson, the Provost of Eton College.
