TONBRIDGE RETAIN HALFORD HEWITT

Tonbridge beat Rossall 4 - 1 at Royal Cinque Ports on Sunday 10 April 2005 to retain the title we won last year.

It is the first time we have defended the title successfully, so all credit to Blaise Craven, the non-playing captain, and his excellent team, who were:

Geoff Clay, George Taggart, Christo Lloyd, Richard Partridge, Mike Hall, John Spurling, Tim Jenkins, Ed Richardson, Bryan Ingleby, Colin Jones and Jonathan Hubbard.

All eleven players played a full part in our win.

The OT golfers, in the persons of their President, Richard Stocks, and Hon. Sec., Tony Monteuuis, also won the Peter Kenyon Bowl at the Hewitt prizegiving. This was the result of a superb round of golf at Littlestone in a Force 9 gale which saw them 4 points clear of their nearest challengers

Every litter bin tells a tale! Geoff Clay had been presented with this magnum of Pol Roger the previous day when he won his 100th match in the Hewitt, a remarkable record.
