It is now over ten years since the reunion attendees left School and the improvements have been substantial. Although, there were few changes in Old Big School where we assembled before Chapel for coffee and to meet many of our former Masters.

The Chapel service gave many of the attendees their first chance to see the new Chapel. Memories of the old Chapel are somewhat faded but the new Chapel is a magnificent replacement and highly worth a visit.
At lunch Mr Lashbrook, the acting Headmaster, confirmed to us how well the School was continuing to perform both in and out of the classroom. Academic standards are rising and the artistic and cultural opportunities for Tonbridgians continue to expand.

A brief tour of the School after lunch revealed the impressive new thespian, musical and computing facilities whilst the School’s continued strength outside the classroom was confirmed by the 1st XV defeating a strong Dulwich side.

The day concluded with tea in houses. For Parksiders it was one last chance to see the house before its substantial redevelopment. The guided tour from the current housemaster, Mr Schweitzer, and one of his predecessors, Mr Allibone, was thoroughly entertaining. Although it was noticeable how empty the House was early on a Saturday evening due to the recent phenomenon of weekly boarding. Many thanks must go to Peter Morris and Ray Dunn for organising such an enjoyable day.
