OT squash has been gaining new impetus recently and the list of activities is expanding. A competitive ladder is being established this season for the London area - for both singles and doubles. Also, there are over 15 matches in the season, including in the Tonbridge area. Most matches are “friendly”, some more competitive. An OT Five has entered the Londonderry Cup (the competition for Public Schools’ Old Boys) for the last two seasons, not having featured for many years previously.
Matches are captained by an OT player. Gordon Aylward is the general organiser. New players are constantly sought and the contact list currently numbers 40.
OT Court games are performing strongly these days and squash is targeted to reach these traditional high standards. The School is privileged and unusual in owning four courts in the grounds, so we hope that these will deliver new generations of skilled players as well as entertaining OTs on occasion.
